The Relationship Between Risk Management and the Success and Failure of Software Development

This report analyses the relationship between risk management and the success and failure of software development projects. Subsequently, the report studies the integrity of the knowledge that risk management is based upon. The analysis is supported by two case studies, the “Public Record Office’s Electronic Catalogue” and “Britain’s Training Programme for the Unemployed IT System.”

What is Cybercrime?

Crime itself is defined as “Engaging in conduct that has been outlawed by a particular society” (Karl de Leeuw, J. A. Bergstra, 2007) and cybercrime is defined as “The use of computer technology to engage in socially outlawed conduct” (Karl de Leeuw, J. A. Bergstra, 2007). From these definitions, de Leeuw recognised that “Most cybercrime we see today simply represents the migration of real world crime into cyberspace”.

The project began with the research of a possible approaches for a web application at Cornwall & Devon Media. This was useful and allowed fast and detailed learning about the possible approaches: both with user interface design, and with back-end technologies such as MySQL andPHP.

Install Dropbox on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Beta

After installing the beta of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala this evening, I tried to install Dropbox using the 9.04 deb, with very little luck indeed! The magical Dropbox team haven’t yet released a deb for 9.10, which is understandable as it has only just gone beta! So I got to work to find a way to install Dropbox on the Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala beta. You can either wait until a deb is released, or be brave and give my guide a go!

How to Install Abobe AIR on Ubuntu Linux

Yesterday, I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Alpha 6, so that I could review some of the new features for this site. I just had to install Adobe AIR and thought I’d share with you how to do the same – Just in case you are unsure!
